The Magic of Disneyworld

I spent a week in Disneyworld with my 11yr. old son and my mom. It was a first visit for all three of us, and it was beyond anything I could have imagined. It truly is a magical place. I mean I could feel it in the air, in every person I talked to and in everything we did & saw. I was totally immersed in the possibility of what if? And was awe struck by the visual and sensual manifested representation of one man's larger than life dream. One cannot help but be powerfully reminded that dreams really can and do come true, if you just believe. It serves to ask oneself....what do you believe is possible for you? Or a better question is, what would your ultimate wildest most wonderful dream be, and then decide that no matter how big or small, realistic or outrageous it may seem to you or to others, it can and will come true because you just believe!!!

Everyone should get a psychic reading....seriously!!!

Today I had a reading with my favourite psychic....Hans Christian King. From the first moment I listened to his radio program years ago, I was hooked. And I knew he had a direct link to the things about myself that I know but had either forgotten or didn't know I knew. Confused yet? Sorry....but it's not something I can explain without going into yards of explanation on quantum physics and the nature of reality. For lack of a better quote at my fingertips, I'll simply say you are what you think you are, and leave it at that.

But suffice to say, my first ever personal reading with Hans exceeded even my wildest expectations. I've had the opportunity to converse with him on his weekly show where members can send in one question and receive the answer on air. That in itself is wroth it's weight in gold, with every single answer begin spot on or delivering the information, perspective or reassurance i needed to move confidently through whatever issue or project was before me.

So I had great expectations for my 30 minute call with Hans. I felt like a kid at Christmas when the telephone rang right on time. And we delved into the issues I wondered about, worried about or felt were blocking me on my path. At the end of it all I left with a renewed enlightenment and awakened enthusiasm for what is to come. I cannot recommend him highly enough!!!

Six Sentence Sunday

Here we are back again for another magical SIX! In case you're just tuning in, that's code for a weekly six sentence excerpt from my latest manuscript posted each week, to hopefully tempt you into wanting to read more. Much more.

In light of my romantic mood left over from my recent 14th year wedding anniversary, here is yet another kissy scene...well technically it's more of a pre-kiss scene, between Lorelei and Adrius from my YA manuscript Fire and Ice. She's curious about the spark she gets everytime they touch.

Visit the Six Sentence Sunday website to indulge in more sensational sixes to whet the appetite and drive you nuts with anticipation!

“So, if I were to, say... lean in and kiss you—”
“You want to kiss me?” His eyes lit with wicked amusement.
“Hypothetically speaking.” I countered , my pulse accelerating.
“Alright.” He said as his mouth twitched into a faint smirk, “Well, hypothetically it would be like a mild electric shock— not strong enough to stop your heart, but, you would definitely feel it."

SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY

This is the final week of tweaking and polishing my novel before I send that baby out into the big bright shiny world . So in honor of that monumental graduation of FIRE AND ICE, and in celebration of the commencement on the second book in the Faerie Song series; BITTERSWEET, I bring you a fresh Six Sentence Sunday snippet.

I'd welcome any opinions/suggestions on this little dance sequence between the YA heroine Loralye and her heart-thob Elven boyfriend Adrius. I can vividly picture what I have in mind, but not sure if it comes across in words. What do you think? (bear in mind I'd just finished watching the movie Dirty Dancing for the hundredth time...check out the mini clip below)

And don't forget to peruse the Six Sentence website for more delicious sixes! All comments are welcomed, encouraged, and on occasion, paid for..........just kidding!

“I can’t think clearly when you do that?” I said over the steady pump of vibrating bass.
With another sharp twirl, I was facing him again, his arms locked around my waist.
“You mean this?” He anchored his hand under my thigh, drawing my leg up around his hip as he dipped me back in a deep plunge. His nose swept the arc of my body and he pressed his lips to the hollow of my throat. My breath hitched as he placed the briefest kiss, before pulling me upright.
 “Yes,” I gasped, breathless, “That.”

Just Do It!

Is there something you've always wanted to do? Something deep in your heart that you'd love to try, follow, pursue, if only _______________ (Fill in the blank with said lame excuse). I asked myself that question the other day. Then while writing a dance sequence for my latest manuscript, (and struggling with the challenge of putting dance moves into compelling words) I decided to watch the movie Dirty Dancing (Patrick Swayzee and Jennifer Grey).... and it hit me like the proverbial bolt of lightning...... dance!

I want to dance. But not just any dance.... (having already taken Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, and Hyland...ask my mother about that one, I was only 4) I want to learn to Tango, Salsa, Merengue, Rumba! All of those sexy sultry up-close-and-personal Latin dances....heck, I'd sign up for Dirty Dancing lessons if they had classes near by. As it is if I want to fulfill my Dirty Dancing fantasy of filling the role of Baby, I'll have to go somewhere like Brazil, or at least the UK to take a class with the dance troope from the stage production of the show.

But I did stumble upon a studio offering a whole host of Latin dance classes....and in case my husband bows out (which I doubt he will.... I mean, come on have you seen these dances!?) And while the idea of being pressed up against some hot young Latin dancer is appealing to most, I'd be more than happy to be pressed up against my own hot husband. But, if he decides not to go...then, hey, I'll adapt and suffer through the hot Latin dance partner... I mean what else is a girl to do!?

(Yes, very sadly I realize I won't be taking lessons from the late beautiful Patrick Swayze....but I can dream, right)

When you have a burning or even a simmering dream, idea, spark.... I think you owe it to yourself to see it through. At least give in to it once and see where it leads. I've had lots of those moment that became duds faster than you can say refund please...but there have also been some that took hold and anchored themselves in my heart....becoming a  piece of me....like writing. So what sparks are you holding that you've never tried for this reason or that. I invite you to set aside the reasons....whatever they may be. Where there's a will there's  a way and when would now be the perfect time to follow through?!

Go for it, at the very least you'll have an interesting story to tell....like my pole dancing classes (don't ask... suffice to say it's way harder than it looks & I have a great deal more respect for those dancers whose routines invovle a pole )

And at the most, you'll come away with a newly formed passion.... dare to dream and dream BIG!

He leaned in, his mouth hovering agonizingly above mine. My breath caught in my throat and for an unbearable moment, everything fell silent. The wind, the birds… even the pounding in my chest.
Lifting up on my toes I stretched, desperate to close the tiny gap between us. The sweet warmth of his breath skimmed my lips.
Then he stopped, gently pulling back, "Speak of the devil."
