I took a deep calming breath, drying my sweaty palms on the filmy fabric of my dress. It felt weightless, as though spun with spider webbing. I didn’t want to think about it too long because here, that was a viable possibility. The sunlight blinded me as I wandered the convoluted path, and my heart was just beginning to return to its normal rhythm. I hadn’t taken more than ten steps before being halted by two elven men. They looked like guards, judging by the way they were armed to the hilt with arrows, swords and an assortment of knives that would make a ninja jealous.

Wow, how time flies! Here we are already for another Six Scintillating Sentences. As I edit my manuscript, I come across a different set of six each time, hence the lack of continuity from week to week.  I just find it fun jumping all over.

This is a heated scene is between Lorelei, who is the main character, and the guy she's likes (a lot) Adrius. Before she know who he really is! It's from my YA fantasy romance FIRE AND ICE.

Once again, I'll paste in a copy of my video trailer (mostly because I just like showing it off ) Hope you enjoy it. And as always I look forward to your comments.

Don't forget to stop by Six Sentence Sunday's site to read more irresistible sixes!!

Swallowing hard I lifted my chin, meeting his gaze head on. “You have no idea what you’re talking about, so just back off.”
“I know what I see,” He goaded.
  “Really...and what is that?”
“Someone who’s scared— too frightened of being seen...of being judged, to let herself be the amazing girl she is.”

Pitch University Savvy Author Week

So if you've been following the Savvy Author's Week at Pitch University you know that the week long event that stretched into a two week long event culminated with each of us submitting a video pitch for our book. YIKES! Once I got over my initial shock and terror....and applied a ton and a half of make-up (yep, that's me overly concerned with how I look....after my second wardrobe change my husband started sinning the "You're So Vain " song to me) I managed to record something that didn't make me want to gag and gouge out my own eyes. And to prove just how comfortable I am with it (gulp) I'm going to share it with you here. See how brave I am. Will I post it on my Facebook page....not bloody likely. But there is a cozy intimacy here that seems a bit safer...so here it goes.

Oh, and as an aside, if you ever need to polish a pitch either written or verbal, I highly suggest working with Diane Holmes and the folks at Pitch University. Diane is simply a magician at getting the heart of your story into a concise snappy and compelling blurb. We've all had a blast! And now for your viewing pleasure.... (no laughter please....)

(...So can you tell I'm reading in places... if my writing career ends, I can get a job as a news-anchor reading those teleprompter things)

Six Sentence Sunday!

http://www.sixsunday.com/Well here we are again, it's that exciting tie of the week where I share a six sentence snippet of my novel FIRE AND ICE, a YA fantasy romance featuring faeries, witches and elves (oh my) (sorry, couldn't resist!)

So now for something not quite so romantic, since the faerie realm isn't all kisses and caresses.....

I was still alive.
And in one piece.
For now.
I tried to pick up the necklace, but my muscles still felt like lead.
Heavy, numb and impossible to control.
The redcap with the longest talons, approached me cautiously.

Well, we're back! It's Six Sentence Sunday once again! And since I'm still in the mood for romance, here's another little tasty tempting treat from a scene with Lorelei and Adrius.

Enjoy! And don't forget to pop on over to the Six  Sentence Sunday blog to read more thrilling and scintillating and sometimes even hysterical six sentences!

And I'll re-post the book trailer video in case you missed it last time!

“Nine days, sixteen hours, and thirty seven minutes, today.”
I frowned up at him in silent confusion and leaned back against the brick wall halting me.
“How long we’ve been apart.” A trace of sadness lingered in his voice.
He stepped forward and spread his hands against the wall on either side of me. Palms splayed against the uneven brick, he imprisoned me with his arms.
The scorching current vibrating between us made my legs tremble. If it wasn’t for the cool damp brick against my spine holding me up, there was a chance I might spontaneously combust.
