Listening to the FIRE & ICE Audiobook

Yes, that's right, in place of the Christmas tunes that have been filling our house for the past week, I've switched gears. Why, you ask? Well, after several days of being out of commission after a dental filling gone astray, (don't ask, I'm still getting over the pain) I was given some news that brightened my day. Audio Realms finished producing the masters for the FIRE & ICE audiobook, read by the fabulous voice actor Mandy Kaplan. And BITTERSWEET audiobook will be out in the new year.

Quite honestly, I'd never been drawn to audiobooks, but three chapters in I was hooked. Now I play it everywhere. It is so much fun to listen to....it reminds me of being read to as a child, something I've always loved.

So if you or someone you know is like me and wants to give audiobooks a go, here's the where-to-find it info:
http://www.amazon.com/Fire-Ice/dp/B018ILETNQ
http://www.audible.com/pd/Teens/Fire-Ice-Audiobook/B018ILENT6

AND we'll be sponsoring a FREEBIE GIVEAWAY of the FIRE & ICE Audiobook on the iFandom's Collide Blog Friday Dec.11th! Stay turned for that one!!

Here's a little audio sampler:

Fire And Ice by Michele Barrow-Belisle

In between listening to the entire thirteen hour Fire & Ice saga, I'll be back to playing Bing Crosby's White Christmas, Lady Gaga's Lady Gaga's Baby It's Cold Outside,  Clay Aiken's Mary, Did You Know, and Boney M's When a Child Is Born. We have a pretty eclectic mix in this house, and we embrace what we love no matter the category. Music, like books and painting and all forms of art, evokes powerful emotions and creates magical lifelong memories. My holiday wish for you is a lifetime of happy ones!

Until next time! CHEERS!

Spotlight on FLING Box Set Author Tracy Reed - THE GOOD GIRL

Today we're featuring another fabulous FLING author. #NewAdultFling

Tracy Reed author of The Good Girl

TAGLINE:

When Gabriella accepted her new assignment, she didn’t know it also included a chance for love with her boss, the hot and elusive, Phillippe Marchant.

BLURB:

Gabriella Townsend has been patiently waiting for her dream job.  When she’s presented with the dream, it’s not exactly what she was expecting.  She was hoping to work her way up the corporate ladder.  Instead, one phone call and an office number on a slip of paper, lands her on the executive floor.

After a month working for the elusive, handsome and sexy, Phillippe Marchant, he offers her a life changing assignment…the position of “girlfriend.”  Terrified of her feelings for him and the possibility of losing her job, she’s not sure what to do.

EXCERPT:

“Tony, make sure Marcos knows to go to my place and check on things.  Have him forward anything that looks important to the D.C. office, and I’ll see you on board.”

Now I was confused.  I thought Tony was the driver.  Who the crap is Marcos?  I’m surrounded by strange men.  I looked down briefly.  When I raised my head, my eyes landed on a very tall, young, hot man walking towards me.  My body reacted in a way I had never experienced.  I was trembling from head to toe, and a strange sensation settled in the lower half of my body.

I’ve never seen an executive or man that looked like this.  Most of the executives at Morgan Grant were older and definitely not this fine.  This man’s skin looked like rich black coffee.  I wanted to touch his face to see if it felt as smooth as it looked.  He was wearing a light grey suit and a simple white shirt, with the first few buttons undone to reveal more of that beautiful dark skin.  He continued toward me and his spicy scent filled up the plane.  This couldn’t be…

“Phillippe, we finally meet.”  He extended his hand and I saw his guns.  My God, every muscle in his body was at attention and now he was giving me permission to touch him.
“Hello.”  I shook his hand and a spark erupted.  No really, an electric shock.
“Must be the carpet,” he joked.
“Sir,” Gil appeared.
“Gil, thank you for taking care of Miss Townsend.  Once we get on our way, please serve lunch.  I haven’t eaten since this morning.  When Tony gets back, tell the pilot wheels up.  Thank you.”
“Yes sir.”  Gil disappeared to the rear of the plane.
“Gabriella,” he looked at me and the most salacious thought crossed my mind.

Spotlight on FLING New Adult Author Geralyn Corcillo- Random Acts of Violet

Our next fabulous story and author profile from the FLING Box set is

Random Acts of Violet by Geralyn Corcillo

#NewAdultFling

Title:

Random Acts of Violet

Author:

Geralyn Corcillo

Tagline:

Cautious loner Violet Parker needs a new playbook when her quiet summer on campus collides with an unexpected eight year-old, a monster in the attic, and Noah...

Blurb:

Quietly independent Violet Parker is enjoying an uneventful summer of house-sitting, writing her thesis, and working to make ends meet. But suddenly a kid gets dumped on her doorstep, something keeps going bump in the attic, and most disturbing of all, Noah Swardguard shows up to lead a summer football program.
Noah has never succeeded in getting close to his reserved lab partner Violet. But when he sees her on campus in July—in charge of a little girl who makes her laugh and live a little—he wonders if maybe, just maybe, he has a chance with Violet Parker after all.

Excerpt:

“Hello?” he called out.
A slim young woman with a glossy brown ponytail popped up from a sort of alcove in the back. “Hi!” she chirped, turning to face him. “What can I get—” Her mouth snapped shut when she saw him. But then she pasted on a totally plastic customer service smile. “—you? What can I get you?”
Noah willed himself not to react. At all. “Violet Parker.”
“Hi, Noah.”
“So...” he said, “working here for the summer?”
“Yeah. You?”
“Yeah. The team runs a football camp for high school kids.”
“Hm. What can I get you?”
Right. Parker had never liked that he played football. Not that she'd ever said anything. But she'd been classic with the bullet-proof silences. Even just watching her concentrate over a bunsen burner could be arctic.
“Noah?” she prompted.
“Coconut mango protein shake and a bear claw to go. Please.”
“Right.” She quickly rang him up, gave him his change, then paused. “Um, why don't you go sit over there while I whip up your order.” She was waving to some tables in the far corner. As in, get as far away from me as geographically possible.
“Parker, I'm your only customer. What? Are you going to bake me a bear claw from scratch? I'll just take one from the case, if it's all the same to you.”
“Okay.” She quickly tossed his pastry into a thin paper bag and shoved it at  him. “Now just go over there and wait, please, and I'll bring you your drink.”
Seriously? It would take her, like, a minute to blend it. But she was looking at him steadily. Almost like she was trying to use a Jedi mind trick to get him to go away.
Ouch.

News, news and more NEWS!!!

Apparently I've been slacking off with my blog post (for which I am truly sorry) but in my defense I have been crazy-busy with writing! Does that make up for it? I know, I left everyone hanging with my last post, but I'm finally going to fill you in on everything you might have missed... and then... just because I'm evil like that... I'm going to tempt you with some more upcoming news. This time though, you'll only have to wait a day for the BIG reveal!

But first things first. My last post was a teaser for Bittersweet, the second book in the Fire & Ice Faerie Song Trilogy. Anyway, here's the full cover reveal, in case you haven't already seen it. It's available in ebook (kindle, kobo, barnes and noblesmashwords) format and finally in print as well!

Is that stunning, or is that stunning. Seriously, I adore the artists my publisher, Clean Reads (formerly Astraea Press) uses for their cover designs!

So that was news number One.

Check out the next post for news number Two.

FIRE & ICE in Bookstores!

I can't believe we're at the end of November already. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the time flies by. Not too long ago we were going on trips to the beach and now we're bundled up in winter clothing, watching the snowfall and anxiously awaiting Christmas.

My booksigning in the Indigo/Chapters Bookstore in Waterloo was a huge success! Thanks so much to everyone involved, it was wonderful to meet everyone who came by! Books are now in stock in the Waterloo and London Chapters location.

I was excited to learn there are still a few more copies of my young adult novel FIRE & ICE left in stock at the Indigo Chapters Bookstore in south London Ontario. And yes, they are signed copies!

For those who've been asking, you can grab your signed copy now for the holidays before they sell out again!

And of course you can still order print and digital copies through Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.UK and Barnes and Noble at the sale prices!

Enjoy and have a super day!!!

Booksigning Fun!

I am thrilled and so grateful to report that my very first bookstore book signing was a HUGE success. I mean, according to Chapters Indigo Bookstore, it is unprecedented for an independently published author to completely sell out of books... within the first hour of a signing! Crazy! I felt a strange mix of regret for those who didn't get a copy and delight that they all sold and so quickly. Just as well it was busy, what with being located so dangerously close to the Starbucks and all. ;) But I barely had time to sip the White Mocha Latte my darling hubby bought for me.

Of course for me the exciting part was meeting all of the wonderful people who came by! So grateful to all of my readers, old and new, and I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to connect with everyone!!!

Thank you all for helping to make this event so much FUN!!!

Until next time, enjoy the photos!!!

A Mini Update and a Sneak Peek

So it's been a while, but I wanted to stop in to say I've been terribly busy finishing off edits for Bittersweet, (book 2 of the Fire & Ice trilogy) Yes, I know I've been editing forever, yes I know I promised it would be done before now, no I'm not going to commit to a firm deadline, but I do promise it will be this summer. :) So in the meantime heres a peek at the back cover blurb from Bittersweet. Hopefully that will keep me from being stoned. ;) Truly though, I am so grateful for your patience. And if its any consolation, these books are so long it's really like getting two at once.

Hate can start a war, but a shattered heart can fuel it for centuries.

Everything Ada does is wrong. She’s the daughter of a Duke but she isn’t proper or formal. She prefers the company of her servants—particularly Christian, the boy she’s loved since she was six years old, and his sister, Charity, Ada’s very best friend in the entire world.
Ada isn’t just the daughter of a Duke. No, she’s the daughter of one of the most powerful Edren sorcerers alive, and no matter how strong she is, it isn’t strong enough. Ada will give up almost everything to earn her father’s pride.
Christian has loved Ada since the day his mother became her governess. But two societies are determined to keep them apart—the aristocracy who say a groom will never be good enough for a Duke’s beautiful daughter, and the sorcerers who say a Carules and an Edren can never be together. Christian will do anything to make Ada his—even drive himself to madness.
When Ada suspects her father of hurting Charity and Christian in his quest for knowledge, she is torn between loyalty to him, and a fierce determination to protect them. The division tears her soul and breaks her heart.
The pieces of her broken heart will start a war that can only be stopped by the death of the most powerful warrior alive by the hand of the boy who loves her.

**Bonus Story –Feudlings in Peace**Join  Ari, Shane, Ada, Christian and everyone they love as they chase their happily ever after.

Excerpt:

He sprinted down the path, into the forest, leaping over huge rocks and tree roots and through streams he couldn’t see but his magic told him were there. He had no idea where he was going, but there seemed to be a tether from his heart to hers — he always knew where Ada was. He ran straight to them, nearly colliding with her father’s guards as he raced through the thick trees.
“What happened to her?” he bellowed, jerking Ada out of Davis’s bloodstained arms.
“She was hit, saving me,” Harrison answered. “Can you help her?”
If there had been time, any time at all, Christian would have paused at that. How exactly had his tiny little Ada saved the giant Harrison? But there wasn’t time. He laid her on the thick grass, searching for the wound. But there was so much blood.
“There!” Davis snapped, jabbing the air above her stomach.
Flames roiled across Christian’s hands and he held them above her, letting the flames soothe the skin before he tried to touch it. They swirled through the air, seeping and mending the broken, charred skin.
“Does she breathe?” Harrison asked, crouching close to put his face next to her mouth.
Christian ignored him. He didn’t care if she breathed or not.
She would breathe, or he would die with her.
“She does.” Harrison sat back, relieved.
“Can you not heal at all? Stop the blood flow from her shoulder!” Christian snapped.
Harrison gaped at him. “We’re Edren. We don’t heal.”
“I’m Carules and I can throw a lirik if need be,” Christian muttered under his breath, but he couldn’t argue with them now.
She moaned.
They all froze in shock, and then redoubled their efforts. Davis jerked his shirt off and held it to her shoulder while Christian’s blue flames leaped and danced from his hands, fighting the poison eating through her body.
“Christian. I knew—” she whispered as her skin healed, leaving only pink burns behind.
“Shhh. Don’t speak. You’re still very weak.” He moved from her stomach to her shoulder, pushing Davis’ shirt out of the way. It was stiff with dried blood and she shrieked when he ripped it from the wound. “Forgive me, dear one,” he whispered, his mouth near her temple, kissing the pain away. “Forgive me.”
“I knew… you would come. I knew you… could heal me.” Her eyes fluttered open, dazed with pain, dark orbs barely reflecting the moonlight.
“Always, Ada. Forever.”

She also enjoys chasing her three adorable kids, playing tennis, watching football, reading, and hiking. Camping is also big—her family is slowly working toward a goal of seeing all the National Parks in the U.S.

Shaking the January Blues

Christmas is wonderful.

January... not so much.

For me it's typically a time to get cozy and hibernate, doing lots of writing and sculpting and whatever other creative pursuits catch my attention. While finished off the edits for Bittersweet (I know, I've been promising its release for ages it seems, and it it is coming soon, honest) and revising an New Adult series called Daring Magic, I've been looking and watching for little things that come along to brighten the winter blahs. Tons of snow and super cold, that's been our winter so far. Short of a trip south, I've had to get creative with the things that bring me joy and add a little sunshine. Here are a few things I've stumbled upon along the way:

Receiving a shipment of my book in paperback: Very exciting!

The first person I've seen holding a paperback version of my book Fire & Ice. Sooo exciting to get that photo!

An awesome fan video for Fire & Ice made by the incredible Natasha Vahora who also helps manage my Facebook fan page! :)

Okay, what else... well there's the collaboration with a company exploring the possibility of producing a toy line with my doll sculptures.... very exciting!

And some other potentially SUPER-exciting news, that I can't share with the world just yet. ;)

Winning a contest to submit my latest manuscript to Entangled Publishing! Whoot whoot!

Rocking a new hair style that everyone compliments me on. :) Love that!

Hiring a personal assistant to help take care of some of the social media tasks for me. Someone to manage my Facebook street team... Golden! Thanks so much Sheri Vidal from Author Accomplice!

Somedays its as simple as having my hubby or son surprise me with a latte in the mornings.

Or receiving a lovely note or positive review from a satisfied reader.

I guess the point is that there are little gifts to make us smile all around if we're willing to look for them. So now it's your turn... tell me, what are you looking for to brighten your day or that makes you smile? No winter blues to deal with, all the better... you get to find things just for the sheer delight of it!

I guarantee that by the mere act of looking, you're sure to find!

Here's to shaking the January blues.

Happy hunting everyone!
