Who Do You Write Like?
OK, so here's my confession, I was playing online, when I should have been writing...what else is new. But I discovered this cool place to analyze your hand writing style. Naturally, I copied and pasted my writing sample in and eagerly hit send. What came back both surprised and thrilled me. My writing style is like Anne Rice! How cool is that? Not sure she would consider it as great of a compliment, but I was pleased. How does it get better than that? When I pasted in some of my earlier writing it apparently matched the writing style of Ernest Hemingway. Also cool. And a very interesting blend of styles... It might explain why my first manuscript put me to sleep and the second one....well, doesn't. Try it for yourself and discover who you write like. It may surprise you. It may piss you off. I may make you laugh. And hey, if nothing else its a great little diversion from whatever it is you should be doing.

I did this a while back and wound up with Stephenie Meyer.
ReplyDeleteShould have been a warning to me.
lol! Considering Stephenie's writing success, I'd say that was a very good omen Jeanne! And I must admit, I was completely enthralled by the Twilight series... not sure what the magic was but I could not put those books down....devouring one after the other in a week long all-consuming hypnotic blur.
