I just finished a one day workshop with Brian Henry, former editor, writer and current writing teacher in Toronto. It was great! For lack of a more colorfully descriptive word. (and yes, I get the irony!) The title was Writing And Editing....totally up my alley being over 3/4 of the way through my second revisions. we had the opportunity to do some stream of thought writing; something I usually balk at because the subject matter is usually uninteresting enough it's reminiscent of those dreaded English class assignments in school. But we used this fortune cookie technique which by the end of it had stimulated 4 full pages of writing in half an hour and enough idea seedlings to make it another must write book.
Now, if I can just get through the revision and move on to write books 2 & 3....maybe I'll have to write something else concurrently, because patience is SO not one of my virtues. How about you? Do you write several things simultaneously or are you a monogamous to your story until finished before beginning a new one???
